1. Is a saltwater aquarium hard to take care of?

With proper equipment a saltwater aquarium is not difficult to take care of. In comparison to freshwater, a saltwater aquarium requires less cleaning but more concern with water parameters. Test your water frequently to ensure that it is within safe parameters.

2. What is the smallest saltwater aquarium I can have?

If the tank has light and flow it can hold livestock. The smallest tanks we sell are 2.5 gallons. Smaller aquariums are harder to take care of because they are less stable.

3. I have a freshwater tank that I would like to convert to saltwater, what would I need to do so?

You will need to basically start from scratch. Empty your aquarium and clean it with water and vinegar. Assess the components that you have already and check whether or not you would be able to use them with a saltwater setup. Visit our showroom and we will help you put together a setup that will work for you.

4. What are your store hours?

5. What is the best cure for Ich?

We like to treat our fish with Garlic Xtreme. Which is a more natural, yet effective antidote. The garlic is used to increase appetite, but also boosts your fish’s immune system. With other antibiotics you must remove chemical filter media, which leaves your aquarium vulnerable to chemical impurities. We also run UV sterilizers on our systems, which is the best way to go. The sterilizer uses a UV bulb to burn parasites, and kills waterborne algae thus clarifying your water. Although UV sterilizers are more expensive they are a great way to protect your aquarium investment.

6. Do you take customer trade-ins?

Yes, but it depends on the fish, and how much room we have. If your fish is very common we cannot guarantee adequate compensation or any compensation at all. We only pay with livestock credit which is only redeemable within our store. Trade availability all depends on how much room we have, so you would need to call our showroom @ 801.255.3698, and talk to one of our customer representatives.

7. Do you include any guarantee with your fish?

Yes, 14 day half price for freshwater, 24 hour half-price for saltwater, and a 7 day half-price for reptiles. We do not guarantee invertebrates and amphibians. Visit the following link for livestock policy details.

We will test the basic water perimeters for free, such as: Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates, Ph, and Salinity. Others perimeters will require a small fee.
